Evaluating the methods of teaching history from the point of view of middle school teachers
Abstract
The current research aims to evaluate the methods of teaching history from the point of view of teachers in the intermediate stage. The two researchers relied on the analytical descriptive approach. The researcher used the random drawing method to select a random sample of history subject. They numbered (23) teachers and (23) schools. The research tool consisted of a questionnaire The number of paragraphs according to the three-point Likert scale was (30) paragraphs, and after completing the application of the questionnaire on the research sample and using appropriate statistical methods, the results showed that the weighted mean values were confined between (1-2.65), while the percentage weight values were confined between (0.88-0). ,33), while the total arithmetic mean of the weighted mean was (1.59), which is less than the value of the hypothetical mean of (2), and this is an indication that the teaching methods used by teachers are ineffective, not invested in the right way, and unsatisfactory, that is, the result is not accepted statistically. The researchers recommended adopting the research tool that was identified in this research and benefiting from it in evaluating the teaching methods used by the history teachers in the intermediate stage by the supervisors. And providing history teachers in the intermediate stage with a list of research tools to self-evaluate their performance and intensify the visit of educational supervisors to teachers, especially new ones, to continuously evaluate their performance and improve and develop their teaching methods.
