Abstract

Despite improvements in neonatal assistance, infections remain an important cause of mortality in newborns admitted in NICUs. This review is focused on the prevention, management and monitoring of nosocomial infections and particularly on the role of a well-trained and specialized nurse. Practical aspects are presented, including a form for collecting data.
