The Causal Factor Model Affecting the Happiness Perception on Mathematics Learning on Mattayomsuksa 5 Students
Abstract
This research aimed. 1) to find the correlation among factors that caused happiness perception in mathematics learning. 2) to develop and validate the accordance of a causal factor model that affects the happiness of mathematics learning with the empirical data and, 3) to study the size of the influence of direct and indirect variables in the casual factor model that affect the happiness perception in mathematics learning of mathayomsuksa 5 students under Secondary Education Service Area Office 32. The samples of 830 students from Mathayomsuksa 5 were randomized using Multi-Stage Random Sampling methods. The tool used was a happiness perception scale divided into 7 parts containing 114 inquiries. Data analysis was done by using simple correlation analysis and Linear Structural Equation analysis was done by using Lisrel 8.72. The research results revealed that: 1.Factors that related to the happiness perception of Mathematics learning were teacher’s attributes, instructional management, self -traits, feeling of being accepted, parents/ custodians’ attributes and classmates’ attributes. 2.The causal factor model affecting the happiness perception on Mathematics corelated with empirical data in which all indices were determined and found that all levels met specified criteria statistically shown as follows; X2 = 297.243, df = 260, X2 /df = 1.143, P = 0.056, CFI = 0.996, TLI = 0.99, RMSEA = 0.015, SRMR = 0.030 3.Factors that had direct influence on the happiness perception of mathematics learning were self-traits, instructional management and the attributes of classmates. Factors that had indirect influence on the happiness perception were the attributes of teachers and the attributes of parents/custodians.
