Entre terrain et pratique des politiques publiques : une transmission de connaissances à double sens

Abstract

This paper is about a fieldwork experience within a public institution – the Municipality of Genoa – where I have been working for about two years as a technical councilor for culture, participation and the development of a « creative district ». What have I infused in this framework, and what did I get from ? Which kind of limits did I put to my ethnographic practice once this charge assumed, and which ones came later, at the analytic step ? How have I defined my fieldwork, what have I kept out, and why ? In this paper I am trying to answer to these questions through a narrative approach that accounts for some experiences I have lived and the questions I have been posing myself all along.
