SÍNTESIS SELECTIVA DEL PRECURSOR DE COMPUESTOS BIOACTIVOS 4-METIL-2-QUINOLONA EMPLEANDO EL REACTIVO DE EATON
Abstract
In this paper the use of Eaton´s reagent for the selective synthesis of 4-methyl-2-quinolone is described, avoiding the use of mineral acids and expensive metal catalysts such as those described in the literature. This reagent is easily available and has advantages such as controlled reaction conditions and low environmental impact. The optimal synthesis conditions established in this work will be used to extend the series of 4-methyl-2-quinolones from conveniently substituted anilines. These compounds will be the precursors of new quinolines with antiparasitic and antituberculosis activity.
