Du développement du pouvoir d’agir au développement des marges de manœuvre : un exemple d’intervention

Abstract

Given the need to develop interventions that take account of psychosocial dimensions in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), this article - which is the result of a collective reflection on these issues - proposes to address the relationship between the power to act and operational leeway in interventions. The starting point of our discussion is an intervention carried out in a home for the elderly which was experiencing a sharp increase in upper limb MSDs among its employees. The ergonomic intervention having allowed the demand to evolve towards new possibilities for dialogue on the quality of work, we ask how it is possible to develop the power to act of the operators in the field and the decision-makers so that together they will be developing “operational leeway” in real situations and in the organization of work.
