Abstract The world aspires to end poverty in all its forms by 2030. Nature-based Solutions (NbS) could play a part towards realising this worthwhile aspiration. Little is known, however, about how NbS could contribute to eradicating multiple dimensions of poverty and why they should even be considered in poverty eradication. This article therefore examined how NbS could contribute to eradicating all forms of poverty and proffered reasons for leveraging them to this end. An exploratory qualitative approach was employed, with secondary data drawn from the United Nations Development Programme Equator Initiative NbS database, the NbS report compiled by Hou-Jones et al. (Hou-Jones X, Roe D, Holland E. Nature-based solutions in action: lessons from the frontline. Bond, London, 2021 [Online]. Available: https://www.iied.org/sites/default/files/pdfs/2023-05/20451g.pdf ), as well as other relevant literature and reports. The article highlighted the different ways in which NbS contribute to eradicating the financial, economic, material, social, environmental and seasonal dimensions of poverty. In the ultimate analysis, it revealed that NbS constitute a key solution to mitigating the adverse effects of climate change on poverty eradication, ensure dignity for all in the process of poverty eradication and have guaranteed finances.
