A HISTÓRIA AMBIENTAL NO PROCESSO DE EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL
Abstract
This article discuss on the relevance of the Environmental History in the process of Environmental Education as contributing to a new form of social analysis. The Environmental History, as part of a new model of historical construction, involves during the analysis of the historical facts, the Environment, considering human beings as members of the nature and verifying how this relationship occurs. From this comprehensive analysis, Environmental History makes possible the understanding of society based on the natural environment. It reconstructs, from this perspective, the historical facts of a society which suffers from its unsustainable impacts to the environment. Mitigating actions of the current global situation are being made, and among them, the Environmental Education has been consolidated. In this difficult dispute between technological advancement and preservation of nature, the Environmental History can contribute greatly to Environmental Education process by providing the historical landmarks of this issue.
