Abstract

Names of ships manufactured in the shipyard of the town of Komárom This paper discusses a special group of names of objects, i.e. the names of ships manufactured in Komárom Shipyard. Relevant ship names are first described in chronological order, then the names are classified according to their semantics. The greatest proportion of the ship names refers to places (54.8%), but many names have reference to persons (22.6%), to miscellaneous things (11.8%) and to stars (10.76%) as well.
