Orbital manifestations of immunoglobulin G4 disease
Abstract
Herein, we report the case of a 59-year-old man presenting restriction in ocular motility, diplopia, proptosis, left eyelid ptosis, and a hardened mass in the frontotemporal zygomatic region, along with enlargement of the left parotid gland. Following the excision of the left eyelid lesion, the patient experienced complete resolution of symptoms, with stabilization of the condition and the absence of further disease manifestations. In this case, we showed the importance of including in the differential diagnoses of proptosis, eyelid edema, and thickening of the extraocular muscle and lacrimal gland, a hypothesis of orbital IgG4 disease, even if the serum sample is not strongly positive. The clinical presentation combined with imaging.
