AGRIBUSINESS INCREASING THE REGIONAL ECONOMY: the case of a property located in a tourist region of southern Brazil

The trip to places that offer tranquility has become recurrent among tourists who, in addition to the lull, purchase and consume organic or cultivated products with less amount of chemical additives. In some properties the fruits, vegetables and other products, are processed and commercialized to the tourists, being able to increase the income of the familiar farms. This study analyzes the contribution of the sales of colonial products like grape, grape jelly, fig and, fig jelly to increase the family income in a rural property located in a tourist region of southern Brazil. We develop bibliographic and descriptive research, through a case study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results demonstrate that in some products, such as grape jelly and fig jelly, adjustments in the sale price are necessary. Concerning to the flow of tourists passing through the district, we verified that the quantities produced should be increased to meet demand. Finally, the research demonstrates that it is possible, through the sale of grapes, grape jelly, fig and fig jam to tourists, to increase the family income of the property studied by 62% annually.
