In this article, we seek to analyze the social dimension of Brazilian foreign insertion, between 2003-2017, through the relationship between internal socioeconomic indicators, strategic alignment between projects of social policy and foreign policy agencies and international cooperation actions in the social area. From the results, it was possible to conclude about the relative decline of the Brazilian protagonism in the social scope due to the worsening in the Brazilian economic indicators and of international cooperation, as well as the changes to the development model from 2016, questioning the international positioning achieved by Brazil in previous years.
