Nowadays, research work on new sustainable clean energy with high-performance, richer resources, safe and reliable are concerned for technological advancement. Due to potassium’s abundant reserves and similar properties with lithium, the K-ion battery has good application prospects, and becomes one of the new current research directions in the post Li-ion battery current energy field. Here, a comprehensive review of the recent research progress in electrode materials for non-aqueous K-ion battery was summarized, including the design strategies and modification methods, the electrochemical properties (specific capacity, cycle life, rate performance) as well as the K-storage mechanism of anode/cathode electrode. Also, the valuable insight of constructing high-performance non-aqueous K-ion battery electrode materials was provided. Finally, the research challenges and development directions of non-aqueous K-ion battery were discussed. This review can offer some useful guidelines for the design, synthesis and further practical application of electrode materials for non-aqueous K-ion battery. Keywords: K-ion battery, Anode material, Cathode material
