This research article proposes how the Tamil writer Prabhakaran has made great strides in the evolution of Tamil short story history using new experimental endeavors and techniques that reveal the problems in our social system. He has artistically transformed the inadequacies of social systems through his short stories. This article is based on his short stories, criticizing the narrow-mindedness of family, caste and educational social systems and its reactionary face. Moreover, the article examines Prapanjan’s short stories in general to find out new themes. It also delineates the nature of Prapanjan’s short stories and argues about the inadequacy of social systems like education, family and caste. In general, it explains the critical voice of Prapanjan and portrays the subaltern lives of Tamil People.
