The method of beam steering using curved crystals is used in large accelerators, including the Large hadron Collider, for the extraction and collimation of beams and is now an important tool for conducting experiments in high-energy physics. Bending crystal plates for accelerator applications is not an easy task. Here we describe an interesting method of bending crystal plates by applying mechanical grooves on the surface, which has prospects for both the U70 IHEP accelerator and the LHC. Using the method of applying grooves, specific devices were created: a crystal undulator for 3 GeV positrons, short crystal deflectors for extraction of 70 GeV proton beam from the U70, and multistrip crystals for collimating 6500 GeV proton beam into the LHC.
