Les femmes et le marché du travail académique : Une enquête comparative France–Mexique
Abstract
The present paper proposes an analytical framework in comparative sociology in order to reveal the particularities of women's position within the academic employment market. The main objectives of this framework are i) to identify the various groups, female and male, present in the academic labour market on a permanent or non-permanent basis, ii) to analyse the gendered meaning of modes of recruitment and the unfolding of careers, and iii) to outline the power relations which underlie the formal as well as informal practices governing academic careers.
