This study presents part of a master's research whose objective is to analyze limits and potentialities of acting in non-formal spaces of education, during the initial formation of Science and Biology teachers. Through focal group conversation and interview with undergraduate students of the Biological Sciences course in supervised internship stage in non-formal education environments, it was possible to highlight the limits of these spaces in their formations, such as the absence of previous contact and class preparation that meets the specificities of the students that the academics will receive in these spaces. As potentialities present in these places, the academics cited the different publics, age groups and spaces where education takes place. Despite the limitations, spaces of non-formal education allow the development of skills, which contribute to the formation of the academic as a professional future. This allows shifting their conceptions of education to a broader concept that occurs through dialogue with different knowledge.
