Liu Zhaoji, regarded as the pioneer inpsychology of aestheticeducation, developed his aesthetic education philosophy through three distinct stages: enlightenment, incubation, and establishment. This study explores Liu Zhaoji's key concepts, including the interdependency of aesthetic education and aesthetic psychology, the integration of art and beauty to foster comprehensive aesthetic education, the incorporation of aesthetics into various disciplines to promote holistic development, and the amalgamation of theoretical exploration with practical implementation in aesthetic education. These ideas have significant implications for the implementation of aesthetic education in contemporary school settings. In the present era, it is crucial for aesthetic education to adhere to psychological principles, enhance the effectiveness of aesthetic teaching, advocate for a holistic approach to aesthetic education, establish collaborative mechanisms for interdisciplinary aesthetic education, and draw from both the rich heritage of Chinese traditional culture and the experiences of modern life to cultivate a distinctive Chinese aesthetic education spirit, thereby improving and fortifying aesthetic education practices.
