THE TRANSFORMATION PROBLEM OF THE WOMEN’S SOCIAL ROLES AT THE TURN OF THE 19TH AND THE 20TH CENTURIES (BASED ON THE DOMESTIC PERIODICALS)

Abstract

This article deals with the history of women's national movement, women's struggle for gender equality on the periodical press of late XIX – early XX centuries. It shows the change of woman’s social portrait as a result of high rates of modernization, change of social consciousness. You can see the dynamics of the social role of women from housewives in the closed space of the family to a socially active, creative social benefits and tending to equality with men.
