This article describes a teaching strategy in teaching the novel design, developed and perfected since 1990, the discipline Volumetric Study of Industrial Design course and is currently in the Technical Course Design Furniture of IF Southern Rio Grande. The trained professional acts in the creation and execution of design furniture, combining the creative development with the practical skills covered in an interdisciplinary character. The methodology is applied in the room model, where the projects are developed and implemented in a pleasant and creative environment where the teacher serves as a gauge in the construction and mental practice of the creative process. The construction of this process aims to seek the experiences and knowledge acquired with the intention of using them in various activities that will establish conditions for the rediscovery of new concepts and basic geometric principles for application in defining the projects. These experiments define the creation of two-dimensional shapes for starting the construction of mental models that will define the three-dimensional visualization. The furniture designs are developed in stages, from creation to implementation of projects volumetric.Among the several techniques highlight the stack, which integrates all the disciplines developed in the course, making analogies with the various academic areas. The work has produced excellent results because through creativity, interdisciplinarity and applicability. Also there is the practice of experiences, acquired knowledge and stimulates the improvement of technical and creative potential in achieving the volumetric design and usability of the different areas of life.
