Current Situation and “New”Development of Aluminum Alloy Anodizing System

The lightweight of automobiles,high-speed trains and other transportation vehicles,as well as the implementation of China’s marine strategy,has expanded more application fields for aluminum alloys and put forward higher requirements for the performance of anodic oxide film on aluminum alloy.In this paper,the basic processes,properties,and applications of three single acid anodic oxidation systems of sulfuric acid,chromic acid and oxalic acid,as well as two mixed acid anodic oxidation systems of sulfuric acid-boric acid and sulfuric acid-organic acid were introduced.Combined with the application field of aluminum alloy,the actual demand for the preparation of anodic conversion film with high corrosion resistance,high toughness,high expansion coefficient,impact resistance was put forward.The fundamental way to improve the performance of the oxide film was to develop a new anodic oxidation system and form a composite conversion film through anodic oxidation and chemical conversion.Several feasible aluminum alloy composite oxide film preparation systems were proposed by the author team,and a composite oxide film mainly composed of alumina was prepared through experiments.The porosity of the film reached 60%,and there were basically no cracks after bending at 90 °,much better than that of ordinary sulfuric acid anodic oxide films,which presented the guiding significance for further research and development.
