Introduction: Sustainable analytical practices can be made by considering several parameters such as eco-friendliness, productivity, practicality along with the method analytical performance. Environmentally destructive analytical research practices, such as using and releasing hazardous solvents and reagents into the atmosphere, have brought up serious concerns regarding the ecological impact of these actions. By checking greenness of the methods ecological challenges can be minimized. It gives a brief idea about its extent of effect on environment to the analyst. On the other side sustainability of the method can be assessed by using white metrics such as RGB color model. A new tool called BAGI was emerged for checking the practicality of the analytical method Objective: This work was designed to select the sustainable analytical method for the estimation of amlodipine besylate and telmisartan from the existing UV spectroscopy methods. Methodology: In this work the methods available to estimate these two drugs by UV-spectroscopy are collected and assessed in terms of their greenness, whiteness and blueness using a variety of metrics like GAPI, RGB 12 algorithm and BAGI. The degree of greenness, whiteness and blueness for the selected methods were shown as pictograms for some metrics and scores in some other cases using the assessment tools. The sustainability results of the selected methods were tabulated and compared for the best choice. Conclusion: The study gave a clear idea about the pros and cons of the methods with respect to green, white and blue aspects and made it easy for the analyst to select the best analytical method of their choice.
