Abstract The goal of work is to design cost-effective electromyography (EMG) signal acquisition system using GNP/FE electrode. EMG signal represent the muscle action potentials to identify the functionality of muscle. The real time EMG signals are acquired by Ag/AgCl and GNP/FE3O4@PVDF Surface Electrodes. The EMG system has myoware sensor along with Arduino UNO. GNP/FE3O4@PVDF Electrodes with three different concentrations (1.5:1.5, 2:1, 3:0) are designed to acquire EMG signal with different age groups. The signals acquired for different age group to study functionality of the muscle. EMG signal is Pre-processed by using wavelet transform. Performance of acquired EMG signal is measured with parameters like error percentage, correlation co-efficient, signal to noise ratio (SNR). The designed GNP/FE3O4@PVDF with 3:0 ratio shows good performance to acquire EMG for all age groups with minimal error and nominal SNR.
