The study suggests that there is a selection of physical, psychological and social Self in the Self structure. It is proved that the cognitive component of self-conception is represented by physical character of Self. It is noted that the permanent elements that are examined in different theoretical conceptions are as following: a scheme of body, a concept of body, conception of body, idea about original appearance on the whole et cetera. Some researchers distinguish these concepts, others equate, the third ones try to build the system (hierarchy). The hypothesis of the research is that the physical character of Self is important for such concept as cultural body, that includes character of body, chart of body and social components of appearance (clothing, hair-style, make up et cetera). It is explained by that in the modern world physiology factors have influence not only objectively but also socially on physical Self, that can be expressed in judgments, ideas, presentations, stereotypes, standards prevailing in the culture of society. It is proved that the body of a person, that, it would seem, is the same natural given, being in sociocultural space, acquires absolutely different senses, valued accents and orientations, transforming, thus, from the biological phenomenon in the sociocultural phenomenon. It is reflected in the article that the exposure of disfiguration or disparity to the personal ideals, or sociocultural standards of beauty is frustrating, generating an alarm, and results in dysadaptation. As a result of such frustrations there can be a syndrome of dysmorphophobia or delirium of disfiguration. In the cases when the own disfiguration is clear realized it frustrates the personality, the psychical processes of indemnification and superindemnification, that are on the motivation adaptive processes, can be observed. The conclusion is driven that the support of harmoniousness of Self-concept is straight related to adaptive-compensatory strategies.
