ROLE OF STEEL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL AND REGIONAL ECONOMY

Abstract

The paper shows the role and importance of ferrous metallurgy for the Russian and Kuzbass economy. Production of the most important types of metal, characterized by its export component, is presented in the dynamics. Some of the problems affecting the production and economic activities of the domestic steel industry are outlined. The role of the Russian Government in the development of domestic steel industry is characterized.
