Off-axis digital holographic microscopy (DHM) is a significant quantitative phase imaging (QPI) modality in a single shot. However, the reconstructed quality of the image in the off-axis DHM is governed by the spatial filtering in the spectral domain of a hologram. In this study, we develop an automatic cross filtering method to automatically extract the 1st order term, thus achieving more useful high frequency information but less interference information from components of zero and -1st order. In contrast to the state-of-the-art filter, the proposed filter can realize high image quality at high speed by incorporating the division algorithm. Some experiments are conducted to prove the feasibility and validity of the proposed method.
