Implementação das políticas neoliberais nas principais economias da América Latina: alterações na condução de políticas e suas consequências

Abstract

The present article sought to show what the neoliberal policies present in the Washington Consensus consisted of and what were some of the consequences of their implementation by the main Latin American economies, especially in the 1990s. In addition, it is emphasized that the implementation of such policies led some countries to deindustrialization. Regarding this process, it was shown that, although deindustrialization has been presented in a general way in all Latin American nations, three different types could be identified in Brazil, Mexico and Chile. Each of these nations presented different degrees of severity with respect to the impacts suffered in their respective manufacturing industries.
