O SAEB - Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica: potencialidades, problemas e desafios
Abstract
This paper has been developed by the author as member of a board of specialists appointed to present contributions for enhancing the Brazilian System of Educational Assessment. It argues in favour of the diversification of assessment design asa way of focusing on aspects of educational policy that are relevant to policy makers. Such diversification should include measuring learning viaa value added approach, thus making it possible to explain learning by means of appropriate models.
