Reviewing Aghraz-al-Siasah
Abstract
One of the valuable Persian books on social and political affairs is Aghraz-al-Siasah by Zahiri Samarghandi which has been corrected and published by Jaâfar Sheâar in 1349. The version corrected by Sheâar which is the only printed version of this book until now has various mistakes and defections which should be eliminated or corrected in other printings. In this essay, the correct forms of some of these mistakes have been offered regarding the textual and non-textual contexts. Sandbadnameh and Divans of Persian and Arab poets are the sources which have had an important role in correcting a number of incorrect words. Comparing some of the expressions of this book as the textual context has shown the correct form of some incorrect words. The results of this study show that although the correction of some Persian texts has been carried out by scholarly persons, these texts still need to be reviewed and even corrected again.
