IVO ANDRIC AND CROATIAN CULTURAL AND PUBLISHING SOCIETY “NAPREDAK”

Abstract

It is well known that Ivo Andric was scholarship holder of “Napredak” and that he published his works in its Almanac, but it is little known if there are archive data for that or documents such as member card or something similar. The authors try to find documents which prove the fact that Andric was a member and scholarship holder of “Napredak”, as well as documents which throw light upon role of the Croatian Cultural and Publishing Society “Napredak” in Andric’s life and his relation to that society. The emphasis is also put on significance of “Napredak” for the work, life and existence of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Croats in that time.
