Mario Bellatin’s Las dos Fridas: the real of the paraphernalia
Abstract
Mario Bellatin has done an intense work in the writing of biographies between the years 2007, 2008, 2009, years of publication of El gran vidrio, Las dos Fridas and Biografía ilustrada de Mishima, respectively. The work of subversion and deconstruction of the biographical genre, accompanied by a writing that makes use of autobiographical elements of the author himself, has produced results such as Las dos Fridas, a biography of the famous artist published in 2008. This work explores the critical complications arising from a writing in constant play with the reader's assumptions, regarding the expectations of a certain literary genre and its presuppositions.
