WOMEN IN THE NINETEENTH MAZATLAN: BETWEEN GLAMOR, MAGNIFICENCE, HARDSHIP AND CONDEMNATION

Abstract

This paper aims to explore and analyze the different roles and representations of women in the port of Mazatlan in the second half of the nineteenth century. To do this, their walk will be reviewed in various public and private spaces, the appreciations found in their actions, different opinions in different documents such as council, local and national press and literature, allow discursive approach outline son women located in different social strata during those years.
