This research aims to develop and apply a methodology for the supply chain analyze in the hospital sector in Matanzas territory. The study is based on the maternity hospital of the territory, with the purpose of identifying the logistics performance and determining if there is a good relationship between the supply chain actors. To carry out the proposed objectives, a methodology is applied to characterize, diagnose and propose improvement projects for the hospital supply chain and its actors. The methodology adapted from a previous one and combined with different tools: checklist, flow chart; performance of group work techniques such as brainstorming and individual interviews. The results shows the lack of logistic integration between the actors, as the fundamental problem on the hospitals supply chains. This document illustrates how logistical problems affect the development of health care activities in terms of satisfying the client at the lowest possible cost. In addition, this constitutes one of the few investigations carried out in the country’s hospitals in with the supply chain focus. Keywords: Supply chain, hospital, health service.
