EDUCATION PERSPECTIVES IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL MEGA-TRENDS

Abstract

Examining the future of education in the context of global mega-trends is necessary to help education fulfill its mission. Developing education modeling trends is a desire to support long-term strategic thinking in education. Education modeling trends are designed to reflect on the long-term strategic future of education. It is necessary to design the future occupations, the future logistics and educational infrastructure, but also of the tendencies of the main challenges facing the education, as well as the tendencies of the education itself. Strategic thinking in education is strictly necessary. In order to develop education trends we need first of all to establish the trends of the main problems / challenges that education faces and which have an impact on it, ie economic, social, demographic (emphasis on aging), technological etc. Changes in education are given by current needs and by the potential impact of major social and economic trends, such as increasing intelligence and automation, changing geopolitical landscapes, climate change and increasing economic inequality. This article also analyzes the learning ecosystems that encompass various combinations of providers (schools, businesses, community organizations, as well as government agencies) creating new learning opportunities and pathways to success.
