Expanding the theory of planned behavior to predict consumers’ condominium purchase intention
Abstract
Understanding the factors influencing consumers’ condominium purchase intentions is crucial for real estate enterprises. This study aims to develop a model for predicting the behavioral intentions to buy condominiums in Ho Chi Minh City. The theory of planned behavior was used as the background theoretical framework. Reviewing the relevant literature identified other factors pertinent to the research context. A convenience sampling technique collected 341 respondents from the questionnaire survey. The covariance-based linear structural model was applied to test the hypothesis and structural model. In addition to the structures mentioned by the theory of planned behavior, the findings reveal three additional aspects: perceived quality, financial factors, and perceived risk. The paper contributes an extended theory of planned behavior model suitable for studying the behavioral intention to buy apartments in Vietnam and other developing countries.
