Effects and Consequences of Jealousy on Individual and Social Interactions in Quranic Teachings
Abstract
The aim of the present study is to conceptualize jealousy in the Qur'an and to investigate its origin and consequences in the individual and social dimensions and to provide educational solutions. The present study was conducted with a qualitative approach and using library data and inferential analytical method. Its research community includes all Quranic verses related to the research topic and other related documents in the form of books and articles. The sampling method was purposive. The findings suggest that jealousy is caused by a weak faith and weakness in beliefs and the love of the world is one of the most important factors in creating jealousy. In human interactions, sometimes individual and group distinctions, discrimination between individuals and sometimes human perfectionism, throws human into the abyss of selfishness and worldliness which makes him jealous of the possessions and possessions of others in social interactions due to superiority and material competition. Among the individual effects and consequences of jealousy are deprivation of peace of mind, weakening of monotheistic faith and beliefs in human beings and dissatisfaction with one's current situation, dissatisfaction with what one has and not giving thanks to God. In social interactions, jealousy, like the first link in a chain of vices, can cause the emergence of other vices, including anger, hostility, resentment, and avarice in human beings. Loss of human dignity is another consequence of jealousy in social interactions. Avoid provoking people, avoid stinginess, avoiding hostility, enmity and malice, not boasting and not expressing abilities, controlling the love of the world, paying attention to the special talents and interests of individuals, laying the groundwork for a sense of honor and dignity, proportionate distribution of love, laying the groundwork for gratitude, awareness and insight Divine, modeling and strengthening the faith of educators is one of the educational strategies of the present study.
