During the last years we have been working on the construction and representation of femenine stereotypes. This work has proved the existence of the many myths and false beliefs that still exist around the notions of femininity and masculinity as well as their strong misogynist origins. In our Western world all these prejudices can be subtly expressed. Its persistence complicates women’s lives and aspirations while being at the base of the causes that impede the equality of opportunities and the principle of not discrimination by sex. In this work we propose a reflection about two of the misogynist components of stereotypes: fragility and weakness.
