Taxonomic notes on the genus Catomus Allard, 1876 (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae: Helopini) with description of a new species from Afghanistan

Abstract

The name Catomodontus Koch, 1935 is not available. The subgenus Catomodontus Löbl & Merkl, 2003 (genus Catomus Allard, 1876) is valid and included 1 species. The new species Catomus kabakovi sp. n. from the subgenus Montanocatomus Nabozhenko, 2006 is described from Southern Hindukush (Afghanistan).
