La dimension spatiale du travail des livreurs des plateformes
Abstract
From a research based on interviews and non-participant observation, this article proposes an analysis of the spatial dimension of plateforms delivery men’s work (UberEats, Deliveroo), based on the case of Nantes metropolis. This group is mainly masculine and is subjected to plural social relations of domination, especially facing class and racial domination. Although they do not have employee status, an analysis of the spatial dimension of work organization reveals a subordinate relationship between workers and platforms. Finally, between constraint and control, the work spaces and practices of meal delivery workers are above all driven by the algorithm (platforms), conditioned by the offer (restaurants) and variable according to the demand (customers).
