POPULAR HANDCRAFTS, MAINTAINING ELEMENT OF THE CONTINUITY AND ETHNIC IMAGE

Abstract

Popular handcrafts and artistic pursuits represent an inestimable potential of technological values, practical and esthetic knowledge selected and improved by the people for the centuries. Due to these handcrafts was settled up a cultural material original environment of decorative utilitarian objects, tools and equipments. The author pledges for launching again the fundamental applied research process of handcrafts and artistic pursuits at the state level; setting up of a national centre of identification through research and development of the patrimonial handcrafts values, giving methodical support in organizing small handcraft enterprises, studying and fi nding intern and extern markets for the commercialization of popular handcrafts.
