Features of social institute of education in the information society: socio-philosophical analysis

This article is devoted to the study of the features of a social institution of education in the information society. It is shown that the formation and development of the information society based on information, knowledge and innovative technologies as key socio-cultural values, needs qualitative improvement of human intellectual capacity, and thus determines its importance in social development. The author notes that the transformation of education as a social institution in Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of the information society provides education informatization process, whose main objective is creating a single information-educational environment. The process of informatization of education contribute to the implementation of such important tasks as the formation and development of competence, vision, creative thinking and so on. It is shown that modern information technology is the foundation for the informatization of education, the implementation of which provides: improving the efficiency of educational process on the basis of its individualization and intensification, improvement of quality of learning through better use of available information, to achieve the required level of professionalism in mastering the means of information and communication technologies integration of various activities within a unified methodology based on the use of information technology, training all participants of the educational process to the conditions of life in the information society and so on.
