The transposition of pragmatism appears to geography can make to all levels (from local to global) responses to the epistemological debate that stirred the discipline for many years. It allows him to escape before any punitive alternative between positivism and constructivism. Geopolitics, more specifically, pragmatism can contribute to conceptual and methodological renewal. On the one hand, it allows overcoming the simplistic definitions well known, and raising the level of a spatial ontology pluralistic, anti-essentialist and plural-perspectivist. On the other hand, leading him to renounce any representationalist theory (the one who wants a "copy of reality”), pragmatist epistemology releases the confinement of the geopolitical paradigm into the science of spatial configurations of actors and authorities. Through Hermeneutics that rehabilitates, pragmatism offers the geopolitical methodological approach, holistic and reflexive in multiple contexts.
