A REALIDADE EMPÍRICA DO SISTEMA ÚNICO DE ASSISTÊNCIA SOCIAL (SUAS) NAS REGIÕES NORTE E NORDESTE

Abstract

This article presents results of a study on the Social Aid Policy and implementation of SUAS. It contains bibliographic, documental and empirical researches developed in Pará, Maranhão and Ceará States and in 18 municipalities of those States, situated in North and Northeast regions of Brazil, as an intentional sample. It presents thematic exes that guided the investigation: perception of the research subjects about PAS and SUAS; administration, services and benefits of the PAS; workers of SUAS; participation and social control; tendencies of the PAS and the SUAS. The actual main conclusion about the situation of SUAS is the identification of social protection projects in confront, that the main expression is the dismissal of the major non-contributive social protection system in Latin America.
