This article examines the capital of Honduras—Tegucigalpa—focusing on its “twin cities” of Comayagüela and Tegucigalpa, examining the relationships between topographic and socioeconomic exclusion, structural and symbolic violence, and the application of neoliberal policies. It explores the city post-hurricane Mitch and post-coup d’État using historical and ethnographic data to shed light on Tegucigalpa, the troubled political center of a corporatizing State.
