The speed of movement of BelAZ dump trucks is determined depending on the value of the longitudinal slope of permanent roads with crushed stone pavement in the conditions of the Omelyanivske quarry. Experimental studies of the operation of BelAZ-548 dump trucks were carried out on highways with a length of 0.9–3.7 km, with a rock rise height of 14–42 m and a weighted average slope of 1.4–6.3 %. With an increase in the longitudinal slopes of roads, there is a gradual decrease in the speed of empty cars, which is due to the need to implement greater braking forces when braking on a steeper slope and psychological factors. In the course of experimental work, the regularities of diesel fuel consumption by BelAZ-548 dump trucks depending on the value of the longitudinal slope of quarry roads were established. With an increase in the longitudinal slope of roads from 8 to 10 %, there is an increase in fuel consumption for loaded dump trucks by 8–12 %. It was found that the dependence of the specific fuel consumption for transporting 1 ton of rock mass on the slope angle of the capital trench in the conditions of the Omelyanivske quarry is described by second-order polynomials.
