Assessment of Knowledge and Behaviors of Research Assisstants Doctors About Nosocomial Infections

Introduction: This research was studied with the purpose of assessing knowledge and behaviors of research assistant doctors, servicing at university hospital, about hospital infections. Materials and Methods: The survey used to gather data was composed of two sections including questions both about data collection form related to socio-demographic qualities and work conditions of participants of this research and hospital infections to confirm knowledge and behaviors. Results: According to the survey used, total score average of research assistant doctors participating in research group relating the questionnaire about hospital infections is 32.0 points out of 100. However, this score was found insufficient and less than expected. Conclusion: Doctors can play an important role to organize in-service educational programs about taking precautions to prevent inflectional emergence, to provide persistence and currency of education and to prevent and control hospital infections by comprehending the significance of hospital infections and their own roles to prevent them.
