Thirty- eight years later, the novel ‘Red Tea’ has been translated into Tamil and published in the title ‘Ëriyum Panikkadu’ (Flaming Snowwood). It signifies that women as a tender one but under violence she is like a burning snow. Women suffer too much at all places when they are prone to subjugation and violence. They work under very worst conditions for livelihood. In this novel, it describes about the Tamil families taken by the Britishers to work at the tea estates for their benefit. The novel portarays the untold miseries of the women they suffered in their custody. The chief purpose of the study is to bring to light the sexual harassment done on women, the unbearable condition of relationships, even deaths, the injustices inflicted on them during pregnancy and childbirth, the tears of suffering and death.
