Cardiomyocyte proliferation at single-cell resolution
Abstract
Single-cell multi-omics sequencing is a new technology to accurately analyze cell heterogeneity and gene regulatory network at single-cell resolution, and provides a brand new perspective of pathway analysis on cell differentiation, interaction and heterogeneity. Cardiac regeneration is an important research direction for reversing myocardial injury and remodeling. At present, single-cell omics sequencing technologies have been wildly applied in the field of cardiac regeneration. Great achievements and prospects have been made in the following aspects: landscape of cardiomyocyte proliferation under physiological and pathological conditions; cardiomyocyte differentiation trajectory and interaction of non-cardiomyocytes on cardiac regeneration; new evaluation system for cardiomyocyte proliferation based on consecutively monitoring cell cycle molecular markers; molecular switch regulating cardiomyocyte proliferation. This review summarizes the latest research and progress in the field of cardiac regeneration and discusses the application and development direction of single-cell technologies in the field in order to provide positive and reasonable reference for the future research.
