The concept of cosmopolitanism is often associated with positive ideas of a common humanity. However, a historical study from a 'cosmopolitan perspective' requires an understanding of its various interpretations and applications, as cosmopolitanism has been a driving force behind concrete actions in specific contexts. This is evident in the case of the dictatorships in the Southern Cone and their resistances, particularly in the context of 'mail art.' Therefore, to grasp these 'cosmopolitan clashes,' one must begin with an understanding of the underlying definition of humanity in these projects to comprehend the resulting actions
