Abstract
Review to La creación de una historia nacional. Juan de Mariana y el papel de la Antigüedad en la Edad Moderna (Anejos de la Revista de Historiografía nº 8). Its author, the historian Francisco Gómez Martos, analyzes the transcendental role that Greco-Roman antiquity plays in Spanish historiography throughout the sixteenth century and, more specifically, in the formation of a national history at the end of that century, at the hand of the theologian and Jesuit historian Juan de Mariana (Talavera de la Reina 1536 - Toledo 1624).
